i love the sharp Schnapsen version of this game which is much tighter and knife like play

This is a fun game of building and sweeping the table clean. I like playing this as a two player version. Especially with building and subtracting where the game goes really good. The 4 player version is also fun but has too much going on for me.

Best 3 player game ever. We usually play an in house variant which is a mixture of Dou Dizhou and Gan Deng Yen. Where the dealing and bidding happens similar to dou dizhou but the actual play is of Gan Deng Yan.

We have our own variant, not sure where I picked it from but here's the simple reference guide. The objective is have a score <= 5. If you finish/discard all your cards you win by default. You can also win by knocking, in which case your cards must be the lowest scoring ones. The game starts by everyone look at the bottom row of their cards. e.g: if there are 4 cards, the bottom 2 cards are seen by everyone. and then one card from the stock is put into the discard pile for the game to begin.

Values

• All pip cards have their value, J and Q have 10, K is 0, Joker is also 0.

If you pickup a 7 or 8(from the stock) and discard it, you get to see one of your own cards. If you pickup a 9 or 10(from the stock) and discard it, you get to see any other player's 1 card. If you pickup a J(from the stock) and discard it to the pile, you get to exchange 1 card blindly. You can exchange your own card with someone else or you can exchange 2 other player's cards. If you pickup a Q(from the stock) and discard it to the pile, you get to exchange 1 card with other player by seeing 1 of their card. You have to pick the card, which you see. K is 0, Joker is also 0.

Good variant of rummy that i would love to explore further. Seems like a better replacement for Yaniv.

Played this a couple of times, like the aspect of how leaving a single card on the table is the pain point(similar to zwick) but much easier to reach that state in here. Other aspects of the game seems a little boring due to a lot of dead cards.

Tried this one, didn't like it that much, will play once in a while, not willing to explore further.

Yet to try this game. Seems like a game that i would love. Ideally suited for 3 players.
